Project Description:

The new 4-story Chaparral Hall building is a 90,000 SF science and mathematics structure built on a steel brace frame. Funded through Proposition 55, this $46 million facility includes the following features:

  • 9 instructional wet labs
  • 18 research wet labs
  • 13 "smart" lecture rooms, seating a total of 770 science and math students
  • 2 lecture rooms, accommodating 150 and 120 students in tiered seating
  • Administrative offices
  • Department of Biology
  • Department of Mathematics
  • Animal laboratory facility
  • Common gathering areas for students and faculty
  • Genetic counseling unit
  • Biology stockroom
