Project Description:

O'Connor provided on-site construction management to the University for the Arts & Letters Building, the largest academic facility on campus. The College of Arts and Letters is a 100,000 SF building comprised of a 6-story steel frame structure connected to a 3-story west wing and a 2-story auditorium. Parking Structure 8 was built adjacent to the building. The structure is approximately 84,000 SF and holds 250 vehicles.

As construction neared completion, a major unforeseen underground obstruction was encountered while making a final watermain connection. In conjunction with the Contractor and the Owner, O'Connor provided a quick and economical solution to this problem employing the use of specialized mechanical fittings and blow-off valves, thus allowing the project to be completed on time, and with minimal impact to the Owner.
