Project Description:

The City of Tehachapi Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) project included the expansion and upgrade of the existing 1.25 MGD WTP to a 2.5 MGD Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) plant. Improvements were made to septage receiving, headworks, dewatering, disinfection, and overall plant capacity.

This project was conducted in three phases:

• Phase 1: The independent processes were constructed while the existing plant remained fully operational.
• Phase 2: The plant was brought down to temporary operation. This involved covering the WAS basin modifications, which needed to be completed before the oxidation started.
• Phase 3: The complete oxidation of the ditch work and converting the completed plant to MBR operation.
