Project Description:

The new, 2-story Regional Forensic Science Complex houses the County of San Diego's Medical Examiner and Veterinarian departments, combining the shared expertise of both offices. The 84,000 SF building contains 40,000 SF in medical examiner/forensics functions and 24,000 SF for the veterinary diagnostic center.

The critical mass provided by the co-location of these services expands the scope of operations for both agencies. Both agencies share common use spaces such as a conference rooms, the library, and procedure demonstration suites. The toxicology lab is also expanded to include services such as bulk drug screening and environmental toxicology.
