Project Description:

As part of the FCA Team, O'Connor assisted in a nationwide effort to update facility reports of existing VA medical centers and clinics. The various architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical systems were surveyed and given a grade A, B, C, D or F. Only D's and F's required associated order of magnitude cost estimates.

The evaluations involved:

• Surveying the systems and equipment of each facility
• Evaluating methodology and deleting deficiencies
• Identifying needed repairs and replacements
• Updating or revising costs
• Inserting information gathered into a database for each facility

The facility reports allow for planning and informed expenditure of resources within the VISNs (Veterans Integrated Service Network). These updates were conducted done on a rotating basis in over 49 locations nationwide.
