OCMI to Represent the City of Chula Vista During Construction of Fire Stations No. 5 & No. 9
As part of an on-call contract, OCMI competed and won a contract to construct two new fire stations for the City of Chula Vista. Both fire stations will be designed and constructed on a constrained site, simultaneously for a combined total of $20 million. Beginning with this project, OCMI developed the City’s entire Collaborative Design/Build program for future civic projects.
To start our team finalized the project scope via stakeholder meetings, performed an in-depth review of the existing program documents and researched all existing facilities. OCMI performed a program level estimate for each fire station along with a complete project schedule for each. During pre-construction OCMI developed an RFQ/RFP and supporting documents for Collaborative Design/Build construction delivery. We worked with the City to advertise the project, interview prospective teams, evaluate responses, provide recommendations for award and manage the design/build firms during the preconstruction and design process. During the construction phase our Construction Manager will manage both fire stations with the support of two Senior Project Engineers, one assigned to each project.
