OCMI Deploys a Variety of Tools to Manage Cost & Risk

In support of the AE design team, OCMI provided benchmarking, cost model creation, market study analysis, and cost estimating services for the design of a new Federal Courthouse in Huntsville, AL. The design team developed a design-build-bridging document level package to be used by a selected design-build team. The monumental federal building will reflect and embrace the historic nature of the City and its built environment. Prior to design kick-off, the OCMI team developed a benchmarking study which analyzed comparable GSA Courthouse projects in the region for relative cost expectations. OCMI also studied the Huntsville construction market via two GSA P120-compliant Market Studies (Class 3 and Class 4) that quantified the conditions of the regional market and the potential impact of COVID-19 on materials, labor and overall bidder interest.
