“… the flexibility and trust that leadership places in us, it allows me to take initiative and grow professionally.”
Q: How has your role evolved since you joined the team?
A: I started as a cost estimator with little construction experience. In the beginning, I was focused mostly on learning the estimating basics. Over time, as I gained more experience, I naturally transitioned into managing projects. Now, my role involves not just estimating, but also leading teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring project delivery aligns with both budget and client expectations. It’s been a really rewarding growth journey.
Q: What challenges have you faced in your career?
A: Like many, I’ve had moments where I felt stretched too thin or unsure of the next step. One of the biggest challenges was learning to navigate ambiguity, especially in fast-paced projects with unclear direction. But I’ve learned to embrace it, ask the right questions, and stay adaptable.
Q: What brought you to the city/town where our office is located?
A: Originally, it was for the professional opportunity. I’ve grown to really enjoy the lifestyle here. I’ve built some meaningful connections, both personally and professionally. It feels like home now.
Q: Who are some of your biggest influences?
A: Professionally, I’ve been lucky to have mentors like Tom Strandberg and others who’ve shaped the way I approach leadership and problem-solving. Outside of work, my family and friends have taught me the value of integrity, perseverance, and humility. I also look up to people who lead with integrity and a strong sense of purpose, those are the values that really stay with me.
