Central Plant Renewal for Long-Term System Resilience

OCMI provided a 50% Design Development cost estimate for the replacement and modernization of the heating plant chillers at SUNY Albany, supporting a comprehensive upgrade of the campus’s central utility infrastructure. The project includes removal and replacement of two existing 2,000-ton chillers with new high efficiency electric and heat recovery chillers connected to a geothermal well field, installation of a new low-NOx burner system, extensive piping and controls integration, electrical distribution upgrades, and associated structural modifications, utility improvements, and site restoration. The work will enhance the reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance of the University’s heating and cooling systems.
