Emergency Generator and Power System Replacement for Active Hospital Facility

OCMI is providing Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document-level cost estimating services for the replacement and expansion of the emergency generator and Emergency Power Supply System (EPSS) infrastructure at Stony Brook University Hospital, including associated electrical and HVAC upgrades. The project will enhance the reliability and resiliency of the hospital’s critical power systems by installing a new 2 MW generator operating in parallel with the existing generators, providing both redundant backup power and additional capacity to support future campus growth. The design also incorporates provisions for the future installation of a second 2 MW generator, ensuring long-term flexibility and scalability to meet the Hospital’s evolving needs.
