Employee Spotlight:
Meisha Guild

Exceptional people build a great business; as a service-based consultancy, our people are our brand. OCMI continues our monthly series, highlighting individuals within our firm who impact clients, projects, and fellow employees daily. This month, we feature Meisha Guild, a Project Manager in our New Haven office who has the opportunity to support Yale University’s capital projects. Her role involves guiding projects from early planning and programming through design and construction, ensuring that each space meets the needs of its end users. Meisha works closely with stakeholders, design teams, and contractors to deliver thoughtful, functional, and mission-driven environments. Follow below to learn more about Meisha!

“I get to collaborate with some truly remarkable people… supporting them in bringing their spaces to life is always fascinating.”

Q: What makes you unique as a team member?

A:  I bring a dual perspective as both a planner and project manager, which allows me to bridge the gap between vision and execution. That combination helps me support projects in a well-rounded and hands-on way from start to finish.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your early involvement in a project?

A: What I love most is getting to understand who the space is being designed for and why it’s needed. That early insight into the end user and their purpose helps me shape spaces that are truly aligned with their goals. It makes seeing the project through to completion incredibly fulfilling.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Yale and with OCMI?

A: I get to collaborate with some truly remarkable people, including faculty, researchers, and even artists. Each has unique needs for their labs, studios, offices, or workshops. Supporting them in bringing their spaces to life is always fascinating. I’m constantly learning something new, often about fields completely outside my own, and I really value that. OCMI has also been a great partner throughout this journey. While they trust me to work independently on-site, I always know I have their support when I need it. They’ve invested in my professional development, including certifications that help me grow in my role, and they’re always available for check-ins. That balance of autonomy and support has made a big difference in how I show up for the work.

Q: What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far?

A: My most meaningful accomplishments are not tied to work milestones. They are the moments when I can make life better for the people I love. Supporting my family in their education, passions, and day-to-day needs is my proudest work. That purpose is what drives everything I do.

Q: What brought you to the city where our office is located?

A: After 20 years in New York City, I was ready for a different pace. Connecticut offered the perfect balance. It is close enough to visit family, while still providing the calm and space I was looking for. The friendships and sense of community I’ve found here have been an unexpected bonus.
