Working with the architect, OCMI has completed cost estimating services for the first major historic restoration of the Balboa Park Botanical Building & Gardens, one of the most recognizable landmarks in San Diego.

Originally constructed in 1914 for the Panama California Exposition, time and weather have ravaged the structure and it is now undergoing a restoration to bring it back to its original grandeur, while enhancing accessibility and ensuring its place in the community for another 100 years.

The restoration will revitalize the park’s gardens, reconstruct the historic pergola, upgrade both inside and outside lighting of the structure, improve water and energy savings, and repair and enhance the building’s structure.
