Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) Residence Hall

Client
Gallaudet University

Brought in during construction, OCMI quickly took ownership of this one-of-a-kind residence hall for high school students of the deaf community.

Gallaudet University’s new $35 million state-of-the-art student housing project in Washington, D.C. is a federally-funded, three-story 68,000-foot residence hall.

Brought into the project as the dedicated owners’ representative, OCMI oversaw the project, providing on-site construction and project management, scheduling services and cost estimating. Construction was completed in January 2017.

The new residence hall provides student housing for the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center, which serves high school students. With 160 beds, the residence hall also features study rooms, laundry facilities, TV lounges and shared bathroom facilities. OCMI continues to provide post-construction services along with other project management services to Gallaudet.
