OCMI provided cost estimating services for the $28 million renovation of this historic 68,000 SF school.

Our cost estimates accounted for a responsive design that reprogrammed spaces within the existing footprint of the building, incorporated curriculum-centered graphics, and provided the programmatic support for special needs learning. In addition to ADA upgrades, unique factors contributing to OCMI’s cost estimates included hearing impaired educational accommodations, American Sign Language requirements, and the right sizing of classrooms.

Located on C Street in the Southeast section of the District, Payne Elementary has been serving students and members of the local community for close to 65 years.
