OCMI was awarded the Nationwide Cost Estimating IDIQ for the VA Office of Construction & Facilities Management (CFM). CFM and the Nationwide contract services a number of customer organizations and project types, including heavy-civil, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and utility upgrades.

Under this contract, our responsibilities have included Independent Cost Estimating (ICE) for large VA projects, value management (VM) studies, change order evaluations, and training for 250+ VA Engineers and Project Managers.

OCMI continually looks for cost savings for the VA. On a recent value engineering study for a project in Los Angeles, OCMI’s team brainstormed 105 ideas, of which we identified 25 for further review and development. The VA fully or partially accepted 18 of them, representing a potential cost savings of $5.2 million.
