Building Tomorrow’s Leaders | National Intern Day
This week, OCMI is celebrating our incredible summer interns who are bringing fresh perspectives and curiosity to our project sites, preconstruction teams, and administrative departments. From project controls to field coordination, they’re gaining hands-on experience in turning ideas into impactful structures.
Interns Ryan Utter and Alyssa Johnson, both students at San Diego State University, were joined by Tyler Harrison of California State University, Chico for a behind-the-scenes tour of two active SDSU construction projects: the Evolve Student Housing development and the new Life Sciences Building.
A big thank-you to our interns for jumping in with enthusiasm—and to our project teams for mentoring the next generation of builders and leaders shaping the future of the built environment.

As construction continues on the new affordable housing project at California State University, Fresno, we’re also celebrating the value of early career exposure in shaping the future of our industry.
In honor of National Intern Day, OCMI IT intern Karina Lee joined our team on-site – experiencing how construction, technology, and collaboration come together to build meaningful spaces for communities. Field visits like this spark inspiration and purpose for the next generation of AEC leaders. 👷♀️💻🏗
