National Intern Day
Today, we’re celebrating National Intern Day by highlighting our current interns and the fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and talent they bring to OCMI! 🎉
We’re proud to welcome interns across our services and departments, providing opportunities to gain hands-on experience, learn from industry professionals, and grow as part of our team.
Dequan Thomas, Cost Estimator Intern
“Dequan has been an outstanding intern this summer and a valuable asset to our team. He has supported a variety of responsibilities, including requesting quotes, performing quantity takeoffs, comparing drawing overlays at different design stages, entering bid results, and assisting with special projects. He has approached every task with professionalism, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Throughout his internship, Dequan has demonstrated strong adaptability, the ability to quickly learn new skills, and a commitment to producing quality work. We appreciate his contributions and are grateful for the impact he has made on our team this summer.”

Assc. Director of Cost Management/Regional Cost Manager
Alexis Kovacevic, Cost Estimator Intern
“This National Intern Day, we’re proud to recognize Alexis Kovacevic, who joined our Seattle office this summer as an estimating intern. A fourth-year architecture student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Alexis came to OCMI to expand her understanding of construction beyond the design studio, and she’s done just that. A quick learner with genuine curiosity, she’s been an absolute sponge for knowledge, contributing to live projects through takeoffs and line-item entry while gaining valuable field experience at the Western State Behavioral Health project. Beyond her technical contributions, Alexis has embraced the OCMI culture and has been a joy to work with. Smart, enthusiastic, and always ready to help, she’s made a lasting impression on our team. Thank you, Alexis, for everything you’ve brought to OCMI this summer!”
